Condolences

Condolence From: Anne Adams
Condolence: I have spent many hours speaking with Leslie at Brock University. I have marveled at his remarkable memory. He could tell me where he had stopped and what he had for lunch on a train ride that he took in the 1950s. I have listened as he told tales of bullies who belittled him in his youth. I have been saddened to know that people who he trusted could take advantage of him. I have respected him for his vast knowledge. He could speak about music, science, past lives and history. He even toiled endlessly at writing a book. He told me once that he read the Red Badge of Courage and he was sad because he was not brave like the hero of the book. I told him he was wrong – he was very brave. He ventured out on journeys of his own, he learned to drive, he sought knowledge and he said exactly what he thought. He was a pure soul with a good heart and I am very fortunate to have known him.
